Now is Now

Angel.
I'm thinking.
Just that.
I used to be reactive in a reflexive manner, but now I'm thinking. I didn't know there was a difference between the two a short time ago, surprised myself by pausing, and again by issuing statements in my head first and then carefully letting them out into the atmosphere. Also, something quite amazing happened to me that has inspired the concept of consideration.
An Angel.
A special kind of Angel, one that has inspired the afore mentioned thoughts and other things that perhaps I may have known, but didn't process properly. This particular Angel has opened my eyes in ways that continue to surprise me because, now I am thinking, thinking about everything I have ever done and said and say and do. In a good way, in a positive self-affirming way, in a way that excites me to meet new challenges- in ways I have never even thought of.
Imagine analyzing a past (or even present) behavior and thinking it through as to the meaning of that behavior and how it affects you and others, imagine that for the first time in your life you can begin to see yourself thinking about those behaviors before they happen. Now imagine how wonderful that can feel, because you are not making the same mistakes.

So, what are Angels and how does one find them?

Perhaps, you first need to spend some serious time in Hell, and then if your lucky and survive - you might meet one, and if you do - and hear me on this, do not let her go.

The current financial situation in this country leads one to shake the head and roll the eyes. It wouldn't surprise me so much that we would be in a recession due to a certain war and other shady dealings from the past administration, but what does surprise me is the lack of foresight in correcting it. After hearing David Cay Johnston read excerpts from his book "Free Lunch" it rattles my brain to think that all of this isn't common public knowledge. There are huge amounts of money sitting in the wrong peoples pockets, gee what you do if you were president? The key to solving any problem is the ability to look beyond your own skill set, there are many axioms of economic rebuilding that have been proven to work, not only including a new provision for a modern era Work Program, TVA or CWA. Creating other types of industry here in the USA is also paramount, IT jobs, training programs, redirecting our armed services to provide re-building assistance with the aid of a unified front from other countries, stopping the countless lay-offs by placing a temporary hold on them, perhaps taking a temporary loss in profit in order to export goods and services, creating a rhythm of production here and a reliance elsewhere in the world. I'd like to see a balanced system of taxation here as well, the vast amount of resources available would easily pay for things like a universal health care system, better schools and better pay for teachers.
The Republican party posing as the opposition party, really pisses me off. If your going to embrace a bi-partisan view, than pressure these idiots to provide their own plans for a better economy - ie; put up or shut up. The whining and foot dragging has to stop. Pony up folks, let's end this downward spiral. We can do it.

Death

So Dad died last Friday, a little sketchy on the details, but I heard that he passed away in a hospital somewhere in Michigan. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this, and many different reactions, Firstly, I hate wasting any more time thinking about this than I have to, and yet I have to think about this. Secondly, Death is a big deal even if it seems like a little one. I never spent much time thinking about the happy/sad days of my youth when my father was around, simply because he was a parent (to some degree, anyway) and he did what he had to do to survive. Parents being parents are in and of themselves a paradox of sorts, we love them because we know better, and we despise them for all they don't know. It's frustrating to me that the man estranged himself for over twenty years without any attempt at reconciliation. Then again, I'm sure he had his reasons, but I guess I'll never know.
I have in-laws whom I call Mom and Dad, simply because the transition makes more sense to me than anything else. They are kind people who are caring and generous. They have their faults too, but it is their unconditional love that speaks volumes.
As I figure out how I should feel regarding my father's death, I'll try to remember the better times only for the reason that it is a much better thing to do.

Time Out

Well another day, another moment to reflect on what is happening in the world. I've been trying to focus on the lighter side of life, so here is another video.

Yipee! the Vice Presidential debate is on in about 20 minutes, of course it is tainted somewhat with one of the candidates being more than mildly retarded, vapid, shallow, ignorant, self-serving and devoid of even the slightest iota of common sense or compassion for the world around her (oops, did I give it away?) Anyway, please remember that you should never underestimate the lack of intelligence of general masses.
Oh, and here is another video,
I call it:

SKA!

Hello,
Gotta say, I'm having a blast with the new macbook. Why even an idiot can make a video.

I needed to blow off some steam after a particularly stressful week. So I've created a music video that symbolizes a couple minutes relaxing with God, as I see it, anyway...

First, thanks to Jon Stewart, I'm not in an institution.  A sense of humor is the only thing preventing me from going crazy. I'd like to think that there is some justice in what has been happening of late, regarding Sarah Palin and the big bailout, but I'm not so sure. A neighbor quipped that: "America, gets what it deserves..."  Which is probably true, it just hurts that as an American, I really don't deserve this (I pay my taxes (etc...)). So, why is there no leash on greed and ignorance?  How is it possible for so many people to be blinded by their own stupidity? I find it amazing, that when republicans are asked what motivates their perspective, after looking up what "perspective" means they refer to Clinton getting a b.j. in the White House. Huh?   Someone I know told me if Obama were elected, taxes would go up, people would lose their jobs and small businesses would fail. Could you please tell me where you got that information? Last I checked the economy has always done better under a Democratic administration (last 60 years, anyway).
Please, people, read something and stop watching Fox News...

HERE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING, yeah, shameless self promotion...
